Choosing professional mineral insulated fire-resistant cables (usually referring to mineral insulated cables, abbreviated as MI cables) is due to strict requirements for extreme safety, high reliability, and fire resistance. It is the "safety guard" of copper cables in critical facilities and places where life safety is crucial.
1. Excellent fire resistance performance True 'fire-resistant' cable: The insulation layer of MI cable is tightly compacted inorganic mineral powder (usually high-purity magnesium oxide MgO), and the outer sheath is seamless copper tube. These materials themselves are non flammable and have extremely high melting points (copper around 1083 ℃, magnesium oxide around 2800 ℃). 950 ℃, 3-hour fire resistance: According to national standards GB/T 19216 and IEC 60331, qualified MI cables can be continuously energized for 3 hours in a flame at 950 ℃ without damage, far exceeding ordinary fire-resistant cables (usually 750 ℃, 1.5 hours). Never release toxic smoke or corrosive gases during combustion: Magnesium oxide and copper are inorganic substances that do not produce deadly gases such as thick smoke, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen halides during combustion, ensuring personnel evacuation and firefighting rescue. Application scenarios: Fire protection systems (water pumps, fans, emergency lighting), fire alarm systems, emergency broadcasting, smoke exhaust systems, safety passage lighting, etc., to ensure the continuous operation of key equipment during a fire.
2. Extremely high working temperature and overload capacity The long-term allowable working temperature is up to 250 ℃, and it can withstand high temperatures below 1083 ℃ in a short period of time. Compared to ordinary PVC or XLPE insulated cables (usually at 70 ℃ or 90 ℃), MI cables have a higher current carrying capacity, or smaller cross-sections can be selected for the same current carrying capacity. Having excellent overload capacity, it is safer in short-term overload situations.
3. Excellent mechanical strength and protective performance Seamless copper sheath provides strong mechanical protection and can resist compression, impact, cutting, and rodent bites. Explosion proof performance: The copper sheath is completely sealed and can prevent flammable gases or vapors from entering the interior of the cable, making it suitable for flammable and explosive environments such as petrochemicals, oil depots, and mines. Waterproof, moisture-proof, and corrosion-resistant: The copper sheath provides 100% radial sealing, ensuring long-term reliable operation even in underwater or humid environments without the need for an additional waterproof layer.
4. Long service life and maintenance free Due to the inorganic nature of the materials, they do not age or decompose, and have a service life of over 30 years, even equivalent to that of buildings. Protected from UV rays, ozone, and chemical corrosion (except for strong acids and bases), it requires minimal maintenance.
